Al Fajr School is a community-based educational program operating under the Ottawa Muslim Association. It focuses on providing children and youth with a strong foundation in Qur'anic recitation, Tajwīd, and various Islamic disciplines. The school is designed to serve students generally between the ages of 4 and 18.
The curriculum guides students through structured levels, starting with foundational learning of the Arabic alphabet, short surahs, and essential Duas. As students advance through Levels 1 to 12, they are taught to read the Holy Qur'an correctly, apply Tajwīd rules, and memorize successive portions of the Qur'an.
Beyond Qur'anic memorization, Al Fajr School emphasizes core values such as a deep understanding of Islamic teachings, practicing a Qur'ān-centred way of life, and fostering mutual respect among students and staff. The school aims to provide an excellent and rich learning experience through committed and highly qualified teachers and volunteers.
