Sadaqa Food Bank is a dedicated halal food bank serving the Ottawa community since 2007. It is the only food bank in the city that provides fully halal food assistance, respecting the dietary and cultural needs of Muslim families and individuals.

Operating through generous donations and volunteer efforts, Sadaqa Food Bank aims to alleviate hunger while fostering dignity and respect for all recipients.

The organization collaborates closely with local mosques, community groups, and volunteers to serve a diverse population across Ottawa.

Open every weekend, Sadaqa Food Bank distributes culturally appropriate and nutritious food items to a diverse range of clients from across Ottawa.

To register, clients bring photo ID, proof of address, and income documentation. Returning clients need a food bank card, valid Ontario ID, an empty oil bottle to receive cooking oil, and a reusable grocery bag.

The organization is managed by Salim Jam, who oversees day-to-day operations and communications between donors, partner agencies, clients, and volunteers.
