Ottawa Islamic School
Overview
Ottawa Islamic School is one of the oldest and most established Islamic academic institutions in Canada, offering a fully accredited Ontario curriculum alongside Islamic Studies, Quran, and Arabic language education.
Founded in 1989 by Ottawa’s Muslim community, the school has grown into a leading JK–Grade 12 institution that nurtures both academic excellence and Islamic values.
OIS serves a diverse student body in a nurturing and faith-centered environment. It is one of the few Islamic schools in North America to offer gender-separated high school classes, ensuring a focused learning atmosphere for youth.
With modern facilities including a library, computer and science labs, a Musalla for daily and Friday prayers, and a gymnasium, Ottawa Islamic School prepares students for success both in this world and the hereafter.
The school also hosts extracurricular events, Quran competitions, and field trips that foster community and leadership skills.
OIS is actively expanding its campus through a multi-phase development plan, with a vision to accommodate growing enrollment and provide even better resources to the community.
