Masjid Bilal is the official mosque of the Islamic Society of Cumberland, a registered charitable organization established in 1993 by Muslims living in the Orleans area of Ottawa.

Initially set up as a temporary Musallah in a residential home, the mosque grew alongside the local Muslim population.

In 2004, ISC began planning the construction of a new facility to better serve the community’s spiritual and educational needs. Construction started in 2008, and by July 2011, the new Masjid opened its doors.

Today, Masjid Bilal accommodates up to 700 worshippers, offering five daily prayers, Jumu’ah, Taraweeh, and Eid services, as well as Islamic classes for youth, an Islamic library, funeral services, and community events.

The mosque features convenient car parking, Wi-Fi, security cameras, a dedicated women’s prayer area, and is partially wheelchair accessible.
