Al Fajr School is a community-based educational program operating under the Ottawa Muslim Association, designed to provide children and youth a strong foundation in Qur’anic recitation, tajwīd, and Islamic disciplines. It serves students roughly between the ages of 4 and 18.

Students begin with foundational levels where they learn the Arabic alphabet, short surahs, and essential Duas. As they progress through Levels 1 to 12, they are guided through reading the Holy Qur’an correctly, applying tajwīd rules, and memorizing successive portions of the Qur’an.

Beyond Qur’anic memorization, Al Fajr School emphasizes core values of deep understanding of Islamic teachings, practicing a Qur’ān-centred way of life, professional excellence in teaching, and mutual respect among students and staff.
